Undergraduate Studies
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures offers
courses in the languages and cultures of the areas and countries
where French, Haitian Creole, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish
are spoken. Courses offered in language, linguistics, literature,
film and culture enrich study of majors in anthropology, art history,
business, health sciences, history, international relations, journalism,
law, music, political science, sociology and other foreign languages
and literatures.
With the expansion of dynamic minority populations in the U.S.
and the prospect of closer and more complex relationships between
the U.S. and the French, Italian, Portuguese, and Spanish speaking
countries around the world, language, literature and cultural
studies will increasingly have practical and intellectual value.
